Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia is a late 1700's village that has been reestablished as one of the USA East Coast major visitor attractions.  There are dozens of buildings along the main street of the town and there are reenactments of the original events that affected life of the period.  With a ticket, you can enter many of the buildings and be greeted to life in the 1700's, without a ticket you can walk the streets and enter a selected few buildings.  The bus, the parking, the reenactments, and the one to two hour walk is free.  If you are visiting, plan on spending a minimum of four to six hours, and if dining and shopping, six to eight or more.  There are many motels and restaurants within one to two miles of the village on Route # 60.
