Note:  When you get to the Independence Mall area of Philadelphia you will find ample parking under the grassy area of the mall.  Take the stairs or elevator up to the Independence Mall National Park Visitor's Center and obtain your FREE pass to visit Independence Hall.  There are limited numbers of passes each day, and weekdays are best as weekends usually are fully booked.  You can though go into the Independence Square area, the West wing room (where the Constitution is displayed), the Old Court House (first home of the USA Supreme Court) and the Congress Hall (first congress House of Representatives and Senate offices) without taking the Independence Hall tour.   Plan on spending 4 or more hours in the area.
