When visiting the Liberty Bell and Independence Mall and Hall in Philadelphia, plan a stop at the Franklin Institute.  This will take from three to five hours or more, but it is enjoyable for both adults and children and has a variety of exhibits ranging from what may be the world's biggest train engine to spacesuits, and trips to the stars in its planetarium.  There is a IMAX Theatre, Ben Franklin Exhibit, and a constant traveling exhibits like 'Cleopatra' and 'King Tut', which attracted tens of thousands of visitors. 

Parking is available under the Institute, and there is a small discount on the parking if you purchase tickets for the day.  The Franklin Institute was named after Ben Franklin and thus, the main hall display; stay in the room for a few minutes as the display changes before your eyes..
