What about the handicapped?

There are many very considerate tourist sites / sights that provide access for those who depend on wheelchairs, to those with sight problems, and those that are otherwise physically or emotionally handicapped. Most places, due to USA laws do have a few 'Handicapped' parking spaces that are wide enough to allow loading or unloading of wheelchairs, and most have curb ramps and restroom facilities for the wheelchair bound traveler.

But, if you visit their websites, you may be hard pressed to find information that states how the attraction has facilitated the handicapped, and this is an important omission.

There are other types of handicaps that are frequently overlooked by the websites, and by the physical tourist attractions, and these can include visual aids for those with sight problems, audio aids for those with limited hearing abilities, adequate restrooms for females (females that have born children or are elder frequently have urinary concerns), and those with Claustrophobia or other Phobias.

Thus, one should published a sheet of suggested alternatives or activities for those visitors that are coming to, and paying for, an hour's or day's adventure and entertainment. You need to inform your visitors that there are 'three-hundred steps up to the display' or that there is a building that will cause a Claustrophobic person to 'flip-out', or a 'spider' exhibit that will frighten a child that has a fear of spiders, etc.
