Bathrooms - Where are the Bathrooms?

This may sound funny to some, but to others it can be a reason for not taking a vacation or trip.  Many Seniors, especially senior women and those seniors with medical problems plan their vacations, night's out, shopping, etc., around the availability to having a bathroom accessible at all times. 

Many highway maps do not display the rest areas on the maps, and many local, state, and federal parks do not display rest areas on their maps or brochures.  It may be nearly impossible to find rest areas in many of the tourist attractions, and therefore it may be a 'turn off' to traveling to the location. 

Example, recently I planned a trip to Glacier National Park in Montana, but when I presented this to the people going, their first reaction was 'we will be in the mountains for several hours driving the 100 mile round trip, no way.'  When questioned, the answer was 'no bathrooms, no trip'.  Well I emailed the National Park Service personnel at Glacier National Park and was delighted to be presented with a listing of 'restroom' stops that averaged every eight (8) miles along the drive, which satisfied the people being taken on the tour. 

But, why should it have been necessary to email the location for the listing of restrooms, this information should have been included on their Internet website.  And although I used one National Park as the example, I have found this important piece of information missing from 99% of the public and private brochures and Internet tourist attraction sites throughout the USA. 

Why is knowing this so important, well as said, to the seniors it is, but it is also important to those women that have had children, and those with children.  Ask them…

Second problem with restrooms; most Europeans, and other foreign tourist are not familiar to our signage or facilities, they use different terminology and in some instances very different types and shapes of toilets and urinals.  As a businessperson catering to tourist, you should familiarize yourself with the various names for a restroom, such as Water Closet, Toilet, the WC, etc.  I know it is cute to make up names like Broncos and Heifers, but even to an American this may be confusing, to a foreigner it can become embarrassing.

Third, keep after the restroom, check for cleanliness often, it is a black mark on your establishment to have floor and toilets covered with urine, writing and other materials on the walls, a lack of toilet paper, seat protectors, or hand towels, and an odor that will choke a moose.  Simply put a lot of people are total slobs, and will mess up the bathrooms, but it is your responsibility to clean up after these 'sub-humans'.

Esto puede sano cómico a algunos, pero a otros puede ser una razón para no tomando unas vacaciones o tropezando.

Mucho Seniors, las mujeres especialmente mayores y esos seniors con problemas médicos planifican sus vacaciones, la noche de paseo, comprando, etc., alrededor la disponibilidad para tener una sala de baño accesible en todo momento.

Muchos mapas de carretera no muestran las áreas de resto sobre los mapas, y muchos parques locales, estatales, y federales no muestran áreas de resto sobre sus mapas o prospectos. Por qué saber estas tan importante, bien como dicho a las seniors es, pero es también importante a esas mujeres que han tenido los niños, y esos con niños. Pida them… Segundo que problema con restrooms, la mayoría de los Europeos, y el otro turista extranjero no sean usados a nuestras  signage o las instalaciones, ellos usan terminología diferente y en algunos ejemplos muy formas y tipos diferentes de servicios y orinales. Como un businessperson proveyendo al turista, usted debería familiarizar usted mismo con los diversos nombres para un restroom, tal como Armario de Agua, Servicio, el WC, etc. Yo sé es mono para constituir nombres como Broncos y las Novillas, pero parejas al Estadounidense esto puede ser confundir, al extranjero lo la lata llegar a ser embarazosa.

El tercero, guarda después de de la restroom, verifica para la limpieza frecuentemente, es una marca negra sobre su establecimiento para tener piso y los servicios cubiertos con el orín, escritura y otros materiales sobre las paredes, una carencia de papel higiénico, protectores de asiento, o entrega de toallas, y un olor que estrangulará un alce. Simplemente poner la mucha gente son el total slobs, y desordenará arriba las salas de baño, pero es su responsabilidad para limpiar arriba después de de estos 'sub- humano.
