Social Security Scam

You are just married, or had a baby, or widowed and the announcement is posted in the local paper.  The con artist mails you a 'helpful' form letter stating that he or she represents 'such-and-such' non-profit company that helps people like you obtain S/S cards updates and benefits.  You fill in the form letter with your S/S number and mail it back to the person that just stole your identity.
