Franklin Institute Rail Road Photos

Franklin Institute, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA

Most people do not know that on a lower floor in the Franklin Institute is # 60,000 claimed to be the largest locomotive ever built.  The story is that the institute had to remove the far wall and bring the engine in from the street, then build a new wall.  Since this, a building has been built across the street and there is therefore, no way to remove the engine without demolishing that building, the engine is too long.
