Welcome to the world of sex and sexual relations

Here is a doctor's write-up of a common sexual problem followed by the author's common language interpretation, the OurHealthySexLife manual is written in the language of the lay person, and can be understood by those from age 13 to 90+, which is unlike the doctor's medical version that is difficult to read, much less understand.

Doctor's text sample - Cervical Cancer

"The naming and classification of cervical carcinoma percursor lesions has changed many times over the 20th century. The World Health Organization classification[6][7] system was descriptive of the lesions, naming them mild, moderate or severe dysplasia or carcinoma in situ (CIS). The term, Cervical Intraepithelial Neoplasia (CIN) was developed to place emphasis on the spectrum of abnormality in these lesions, and to help standardise treatment.[7] It classifies mild dysplasia as CIN1, moderate dysplasia as CIN2, and severe dysplasia and CIS as CIN3. The most recent classification is the Bethesda System, which divides all cervical epithelial presursor lesions into 2 groups: Low-grade Squamous Intraepithelial Lesion (LSIL) and High-grade Squamous Intraepithelial Lesion (HSIL). LSIL corresponds to CIN1, and HSIL includes CIN2 and CIN3.[7] More recently, CIN2 and CIN3 have been combined into CIN2/3." - Wikipedia

"There is no one culprit to blame for Cervical Cancer, but there is evidence that pre-cancerous cells can be the fault of the Human Papilloma Virus and that by getting a vaccination against HPV may limit some risk. The other risk item is sex with multiple partners, in that the more partners the more likely one will eventually contract a sexual disease that can weaken the body's defenses. The first symptoms or indications of Cervical Cancer for many women are abnormal bleeding or the results of a gynecological test.

The ACS, American Cancer Society, feels that smoking, diet, hormonal contraception, HPV, Chlamydia, and family history may increase the chances of getting Cervical Cancer. They also recommend against using the drug diethylstilbestrol (DES).

Acetic acid or Lugol’s iodine can be used in a clinic to highlight precancerous lesions within a woman's uterus and cervix; this is minimally-invasive and less costly than laboratory testing. Once the inside of the uterus is painted, if there are precancerous lesions then each should be visible to the practitioner doing the examination.

If a precancerous lesion is found, then follow up tests like a Pap Test or a biopsy should be done, and if cancer is found then proper treatment will have to be provided. This can be with a Hysterectomy, or with a Trachelectomy that surgically removes the cancer while preserving the ovaries and uterus. This is not a proven technique and can now only be used in the first stages of Cervical Cancer.

Note that there are over a dozen stages of Cervical Cancer based on the size, positions, spread, etc., of the cancer cells, and also note that the cure will vary by stage number, therefore you need to talk to your doctor about each process and stage.

Life expectancy with Cervical Cancer is dependent on when it is detected and treated; if detected and treated within the first year or so, the person has a 72 to 92 % of survival for five years or more. If not treated, the chances are the person may be dead within the five year period."
