A TRIBUTE TO MY MOM.

A GOLD-STAR MOTHER

WHO WAS HONORED BY A PARADE AND

PRESENTATION IN THE 1940’s

They all made a noble sacrifice,

Every mother who gave her son;

But the medal of honor belongs to her

Who gave all four-—not one!

Four sons to fight for freedom,

Four sons to swell the ranks;

For keeping them safe and sound, thus far,

Dear God, we give Thee thanks.

Robert (Army)

It’s true that one has been wounded.

But still, his mother can smile,

For a leg wound is seldom fatal

And a miss is as good as a mile.

Eddie (Navy)

Another son’s still but a baby.

He’s not even out of his teens,

But he KNOWS the meaning of battle;

When a ship sinks, he knows what it mean

Vincent (Marines)

Her third son is also in battle

And though we don’t know just where,

We know that God will be with him because

We’ve asked him in every prayer.

Jimmy (Army-Air Force)

And finally, we come to her fourth son,

More fortunate than the others.

For Uncle Sam has stationed him here,

Not overseas like his brothers.

Four sons and though they’re far apart,

They’re close to each other.

For each one carries in his heart

The picture of his Mother.

Hannah (0020)

Our deepest love and respect to you, too, Dad.

Your contribution equaled Mom’s and your “Gold-Star” will be waiting for you in Heaven.
