It was a wondrous ship, a sturdy ship,
And it sailed with a happy crew;
And the wind was kind and the ocean calm,
And each man knew just what he must do.
They sailed along, the sailing was smooth,
And the ship held an even keel;
And the swell of the ocean seemed to soothe
Every man as they hoisted the sail.
But, the days grew long,
And the tempers short,
And dissention filled the air.
Where once they shared a happy song,
Today, they felt despair.
They began to blame each other,
And each one bemoaned his fate;
The captain blamed the crewmen
And the crewmen blamed the mate.
And they were so busy squabbling,
That, not one, the reef did note,
And the great ship groaned with it's broken back,
And it couldn't stay afloat.
How sad that human failings,
Could vanquish so much good,
If you and I'd been on that ship,
I'm sure they never would????
(Writer's comment: Any similarity between this ship and our factory is purely intentional.)
