In memory of little Lisa Steinberg
Just one tiny niche,
Not much to ask
IN the tapestry of life,
A mother's love in which to bask
And soothe the daily strife.
Just one tiny girl
With a broken heart,
So small a quest denied,
How often did she yearn to lover,
How often had she cried?
Just one little girl
Has gone from here,
Her faith no longer scarred,
Her soul serene.
Her pathway clear,
She holds the hand of God.
Just one little girl?
Not so, this child of cruel rejection
Embodies every battered child
Who cries out for protection.
No witch-hunt, please.
But, if you know
A child who needs your aid,
Don't turn your head and walk away,,
You may be glad you stayed.
