City Girl - Country Girl

Why do you Roam?

It’s frightening in the city,

There’s guns and gangs and Crack.

I’m heading for the country

And I’m never coming back.

It’s so peaceful in the country

A wondrous place to see.

The long green fields, the birds, the trees,

That’s where I want to be.

It’s boring in the country

The next bus I must take.

I’m heading for the city,

A new life I will make.

There’s excitement in the city,

The lights, the shows, the fun.

The people, all so witty,

I feel life’s just begun.

Ah, city girl, Oh, country girl

Think twice before you roam

And leave your loved ones far behind;

There IS no place like home!
