My Swimming Pool and Me
The ad was so inviting
I really thought it really cool,
The water sparkled on the page
Like some exotic Jewel.
It promised all the miracles,
It would relieve my stress.
Vacation in my own backyard?
Of Course, I answered “Yes”
Now as a rule, I’m not a fool
So, why’d I buy that gosh darn pool?
Leaves me broke and in arrears
Keeping up with its repairs.
Algaecide, shock and much chlorine,
Still, the water’s murky green.
I filter, vacuum by the hour,
Everything that is within my power.
Company’s coming at end of the week
And now the damn thing springs a leak.
Hours of searching and finally found
The culprit’s three feet underground.
Company’s coming! Not the time to relax,
Located my shovel and trusty pickaxe.
Went to work with might and main,
Finished the job, Ignored the pain.
The water’s now cleared,
It’s beauty is plain.
The weekend forecast?
Three days of rain, Rain, …and more RAIN !!!!!
AAAGHY!!!!
