A Widow's Reply
When you live in a house in the country,
and you are it's one and only.
People will sometimes say to you,
"You must be awfully lonely."
But, I keep a chair in my backyard,
and there is so many things to see.
Squirrels, raccoons, robins and deer,
and woodpeckers up a tree.
Two little squirrels are playing tag,
a cat has just joined the chase.
The squirrels scampered up a tree,
the cat just lost THAT race.
A deer just wandered into my yard,
a beautiful sight to see.
He came to eat the apples that,
had fallen off the tree.
A spider is busy spinning a web,
oh careless bug beware.
If you get tangled in that web,
you'll be his breakfast fare.
And yesterday, behind the house,
along with all the rest.
A mama mouse and baby mouse,
were sleeping in their nest.
So, in answer to your question,
"How lonely can I be,
since God has made all this beauty,
then left it all to me."
With Love to All
