Railroads*

Start with the Amtrak Rail System by going to www.Amtrak.com , it is the only major passenger railroad that covers the country from coast to coast, border to border. There are many small local tourist railroads around the country, but these are usually private owned and only run from one (1) to a hundred or so miles. The website below will give you an idea of when the USA rail system was abandoned by the USA Corporations, most went out of business just as most foreign railroad systems were expanding.

USA President Obama allocated funding for several High-Speed rail systems in the USA in the 2009 - 2010 period, of which some state governors (Ohio and Minnesota) declined, thus leaving the USA behind in High-speed rail transport as the rest of the world advances.
