The following are the #-11 numbers being used in the USA.  If you are traveling in America, you should keep a copy of this list with you.

 

211

211 or two eleven is used by some cities to access the Health and Human Services Databases that provide information as to the hospitals, clinics, doctors, etc., in that area.
 

311
311 or three eleven is not only an American Rock Band, but is the telephone number for many cities like Philadelphia, New York, Huston, etc. The 311 number connects you to City Services where you can ask questions about the services provided, find NON-Emergency police and fire information, road and bridge info, etc.
 

411
411 or four eleven is the information services of the telephone company, and using this service to locate a person or business may cost you a dollar or two.
 

511
511 or five eleven is the information services for most major highways in the USA, and you can obtain emergency and non-emergency help while using the highway system.
 

711
711 or seven eleven is both a chain of convince stores and the telephone number used by those of limited hearing that require information or services via the 'Telecommunication Relay Service' system; it is used in a similar fashion to the 911 system used by those of good hearing ability.
 

811
811 or eight eleven is used by USA contractors to locate buried pipes, phone lines, power lines, etc, BEFORE beginning to dig.
 

911
911 or nine eleven is the EMERGENCY number to call for a police, fire, or medical EMERGENCY.
